EXOGRID Technology provides greater power and performance through greater handle stiffness and strength. The innovative EXOGRID concept is simple: increase handle stiffness and strength without increasing weight. Louisville starts with a one-piece bat, trims metal from the handle in a grid pattern to reduce handle weight. Metal is then replaced with carbon inserts that are much lighter and stiffer than the metal it replaces. For optimum stiffness, they then insert a carbon sleeve with unidirectional fibers that run the length of the handle. Last, using both heat and extreme pressure, the inserts sleeve and metal wall are bonded to work as a single, solid unit. The result is a stiffness and strength never possible with aluminum. The last thing you want at contact is for your bat handle to flex. When the handle flexes, the barrel can't and this reduces the trampoline effect. The EXOGRID stiff handle allows for more barrel flex resulting in max trampoline effect and ultimately greater ball travel.
